East Kings McGill's brought home the Valley's third set of provincial medals winning bronze at the Senior B Women's championships held in Bridgewater. They defeated Bedford Titans 3-2 for the medals. In round-robin play they won over West Nova Fuels 4-0 and defeated Kings West 3-0 before falling to Halifax Dunbrack 2-1.
The Valley's second representative, Kings West LOU, only lost the one game to East Kings, In their other games they blanked West Nova 5-0 and drew 3-3 with Dunbrack.
North Nova won gold edging past Dunbrack 1-0 in the championship game.
At the senior B men's event in Truro, neither Valley rep advanced to the final. Wolfville Merchants defeated FSA and Truro by 2-0 scores but missed a game-ending penalty kick to lose 2-1 to Chester.
Chris Parks Construction lost their first two matches, 4-3 to Antigonish Celtics and 3-1 to the Halifax Pumas before rallying to tie the Cape Breton Scorpions 5-5 in their final game.
The Pumas repeated as provincial champions knocking off Chester 2-0 in the final.
Tier 1 U-14 and U-16 championships were also held this weekend but unfortunately no Valley United teams advanced to participate in them.
Next weekend will see the U-16 Tier 2 boys hosted out of New Minas. West Hants and Bridgetown will represent the VDSA. East Kings Invisalign will attend the U-16 Tier 2 girls event in Cole Harbour. Valley United U-12 boys and girls will both travel to Sydney to participate in the 12A championships there.
