Valley District Soccer Association – Regional Director of Player and Coach Development

The Valley District Soccer Association provides all 16 soccer clubs located in the Annapolis Valley of Nova Scotia, Canada, with administrative and technical direction and support.
 
Under the direction of the Association, and in partnership with Soccer Nova Scotia, the Regional Director of Player and Coach Development will be responsible for the overall development, direction, and delivery of the region’s outdoor and indoor soccer programs, following the guidelines as set out in the Canadian Soccer’s Long Term Player Development Plan (Wellness to World Cup) and priorities, as established by the Valley District Soccer Association and other partners.

This position will report to the VDSA Board and partner organizations on a regular basis, and will be a member of various regional committees in a technical advisory role. This position will maintain an office at the Valley Indoor Soccer and Events Centre in Kentville, Nova Scotia.

Salary negotiable based on qualifications, abilities and experience. This position includes the use of a vehicle. This job requires a significant amount of travel as well as weekday, evenings and weekend work hours. Preferred start date for this position is October 1st, 2015

Qualifications and/or experience include:
  • An undergraduate degree in sport and recreation, education or related experience
  • Full Canadian B License + NCCP – Competition Development or equivalent
  • Experience working with non-profit volunteer boards
  • Proven record in soccer program design, implementation and scheduling.
  • Competency in basic office computer software (Microsoft Office suite, Internet, E-Mail);
  • A self-motivated, independent worker, who is professional and possesses excellent people skills.
  • Approved Criminal Records Check and Child Abuse Registry
